For Fox Sake

Hey everyone! I'm back and today I am sharing with you my inspiration for our April Challenge at A Perfect Time To Craft. If you would like to take part in our April Challenge then head on over to - https://aperfecttimetocraft.blogspot.com/. We have some great prizes up for grabs again this month!
This month we had to chose a pack from the February Spring Bundle on The Hungry jpeg. I fell in love with the Forest Nature Animal set. Here's the link if you want to check it out - https://thehungryjpeg.com/product/3674610-forest-nature-animal-amp-flora-set/.

This month I went completely out of my comfort zone with this card. I saw a easel card with a drawer in a card making magazine and knew I wanted to give it a go. So I started by measuring a tea light candle and then I grabbed a pen and paper and worked out how big my drawer would need to be to fit 16 candles. I decided to use brown card as the base so I started by measuring out the size of my drawer on to the card and then I cut it out with my guillotine. Next I used my score board to score my lines. Then I cut one slit 2cm in on each corner of my square and folded the sides up. This created four little flaps on each corner of my square. I added a bit of glue on to each flap and stuck each one to sides of my drawer. That's the drawer complete.

The next challenge was for me to decorate my drawer. I started by measuring orange matting, one square for the inside of my drawer, one square for the bottom of my drawer and eight sides. Four for the inside and four for the outside. I then used my guillotine to cut them out. Next I measured and cut my flower backing paper slightly smaller than my orange matting. Then using double sided tape I secured my backing paper to my orange matting. Using more doubled sided tape I secured my eight sides and two squares on to my drawer. In the Forest Nature Animals pack I found some cute little animals. I printed a Fox, Rabbit and Hedgehog and used my scissors to cut around them. Then I used double sided tape to stick them in to the inside of my drawer.

The last part of my drawer was the handles. I cut two pieces of brown card and used my hole punch to create a hole in the middle of each piece. Next I cut two pieces of orange ribbon and threaded a piece through each hole to make a loop and secured the end with glue dots. Then I  stuck the two handles on to my drawer, one on the left side and one on the right using glue dots. Lastly I used orange gems to decorate the brown card holding the handles on to the drawer. I decided to add a little extra surprise to the drawer so I printed off two Happy Birthday sentiments with a love heart each side. Then I matted them with orange and brown card and stuck them to the inside of my drawer.

Now on to the second part of the card. I went on to the Forest Nature Animals pack and found this lovely Fox surrounded by flowers and printed out two. I used one to cut out all the flowers, leaves and fox. Then I used sticky pads to stick the flowers, leaves and fox on to my second one creating a decoupage look. Next I used orange and brown card to mat the image. I then cut two orange squares and cut them in half to make four corner pieces. I used glue dots to stick them down and added a brown button into each corner. That's the image finished.

Next is the drawer holder. I measured my drawer and cut one piece for the top and left side with a flap and one piece for the bottom and right side with a flap. I then put glue on both flaps and stuck them altogether. That created a nice little slot for me to place my drawer in. The next step was to decorate it. I cut some orange matting, two square ones - one for the top and one for the bottom and two sides ones - one for the left and one for the right. Next I cut the flower backing paper slightly smaller than my orange. One square for the top and two sides. The bottom part I cut out a white square as this is where I will write my message. To give it a special touch I printed out another fox and used double sided tape to secure it to the bottom right hand corner. That's the drawer holder done. I decided to make the drawer come out side wards so I put the drawer holder side at the front and back and the slot on the sides. Then I slotted the drawer into the holder.

The next part is the easel stand. I got brown card measured a square to the size of the drawer holder. Then I measured two rectangles both the same size. Using my guillotine I cut it out and then scored the lines. I folded the card forward to make a triangle shape on top of my square. Then I cut orange matting and flower backing paper to fit the square. Using double sided tape I stuck them on to the square. I decided to use this card for a family members birthday so I printed my sentiment 'Jane Have A Great Birthday For Fox Sake'. Using orange and brown card I matted the sentiment. I stuck my sentiment on to my square using sticky pads. The I printed a fox, bear, squirrel and hedgehog from the nature forest animal pack. I cut them out and used double sided tape to stick them at the bottom of my square. Now its time to stick it altogether.

I used glue to stick my square on to the top of my drawer holder. Then I used double sided tape to tape my fox square on to the fold. That's it! My very own easel card with a drawer. Thanks all for sticking with me. I know this has been a long post! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!

Catching Butterflies

Hey everyone! I'm back and today I'm sharing with you one of my older cards but it's still one of my favorites. I made for the Card Making Tutorials, Support & Inspiration 2nd Birthday Challenge. Here's the link if you would like to check out the group -https://www.facebook.com/groups/2080099255555175.
For the challenge I had to use the butterfly curl digital stamp from Sheepski Designs. Here's the link just in case you want to check it out -

So I started the card by sizing the butterfly and girl digital stamps. Once printed I  coloured them in and cut them all out. I then set them aside and chose a 8x8 inch card blank. Next I cut out a piece of light blue card the same size as the card blank. Using doubled sided tape I secured
it to my card blank.

Next I measured a piece of orange card 1cm squared smaller than the light blue card and cut it out. I found this lovely forest backing paper and cut it 1cm smaller squared than the orange card. I then stuck the orange matting on to my light blue card and the forest backing paper on to the orange matting both with double sided tape.

I decided to use more double sided tape to secure my girl digital stamp on to the bottom of my card. The next decision was how to place the butterflies so I played around with where to put them. Once happy with how they looked I used glue dots to stick them down. The last part of my card was to add a sentiment.

I wanted it to blend in the little scene I had made on my card so I decided to print happy birthday in a banner shape. Then I printed a little aeroplane and cut both the plane and sentiment out. I secured the plane in to the top left corner with doubled sided tape. Then I secured the sentiment behind the aeroplane and joined them both with a black line to make it look like the aeroplane is pulling a banner. That's it! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!

Land Of The Dinosaurs

Hey everyone! Things have been a bit quiet but today I'm back to share with you my Land Of The Dinosaurs card. This one was super fun to make and I just love how colourful it turned out.

I started by printing out my dinosaurs. I picked out some fun coloured pencils and coloured them in. Then I cut them all out with my scissors. The next decision was what card blank to use.  I decided on a 8x8 inch squared one.

I used double sided tape to stick my dark purple card to my card blank. Then I measured and cut my orange matting 5mm smaller than my purple and stuck it down with more double sided tape. I then found this great volcano background to use.

I measured and cut it 5mm smaller than my orange matting and again stuck it down with doubled sided tape. I wanted my sentiment to blend in so printed out a little cave man and happy birthday sign. I cut around them both.

Next I stuck my cave man on top of a hill with doubled sided tape. Then I used glue dots to stick the happy birthday sign on to the cave mans hand so it looks like he's holding it. Lastly I used glue dot to
stick each of my five dinosaurs into place. That's it! Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!

Wine Time

Hey Guys! I'm back today to share with you this fun little birthday card. I started this card by stamping my image using Art Impressions Girlfriends Wine Taster Stamp. Once it was completely dry I coloured the image with my chosen colours. I decied to use a square 8x8 inch card blank and rounded the corners used my rounded edge corner punch.

Next I covered the card blank in dark purple card. Then I measured my blue layer of matting, cut it out and rounded the edges. Once my blue matting layer was stuck down I chose this funky blue, purple and pink squared backing paper. I measured and cut out three stripes of  the backing paper and rounded the edges of them.

Then I glued them on to my blue card, leaving a small gap between each strip. I then printed out my sentiment in dark purple and cut both my sentiment and image out. Then I matted them both in blue card and stuck them to purple card before cutting around them with my patterned scissors. I cut a strip of blue rhinestone ribbon and glued it to a slightly bigger strip of purple card.

I measured and marked the middle of my card before sticking my rhinestone ribbon on to it. Lastly I used sticky pads to stick my image and sentiment into place and to finish it off I stuck three purple and blue gems into each corner. That's it. Thanks for looking!
