Land Ho

Hey Everyone! I'm back today with my inspiration for A Perfect Time To Craft. Check out our challenge we have some awesome prizes up for grabs - https://aperfecttimetocraft.blogspot.com/. This month our sponsor is Doctor Digi's House Of Stamps - https://www.doctor-digi.com/. It was a hard decision trying to pick just one digital stamp as there's so many great ones but I finally decided on this Viking 'Land Ho' one - https://www.doctor-digi.com. For this card I wanted to try something I'd never tried before so decided on a Magic Slider Card. It wasn't the easiest card to make but I just love the outcome. I'm going to link the Youtube tutorial I followed - https://www.youtube.com/.

First I printed out my viking boat digital stamp and two ocean backgrounds. I coloured my digital stamp in with my pencils and I used my scissor to cut it out. Next I used double sided tape to secure my viking boat on to my first background. I cut the bottom couple off waves out of my second background and stuck it slightly over my viking boat using glue dots. This makes it look like the boat is sailing through the waves.

I used a piece of A4 red card and cut it out. I then folded it in half leaving me with a folded card measuring 17.8cms by 14.5cms. Next I measured out a rectangle on the front of my card measuring 15.1cms by 10.5cms. I used my craft knife to carefully cut out the rectangle and make a slit along the inside of my fold. Then I used double sided tape to secure my background to the inside of my card. The rectangle now creates a frame around my image.

I took a piece of A4 clear inkjet transparency paper and printed out my viking boat digital stamp on to it. I measured it out slightly bigger than my rectangle frame and cut it out with my scissors. I then used double sided tape to secure it to the inside of my frame making sure both my images lined up. The next part is creating the slider. I took a piece of white card and measured out two pieces at 15.7cms by 13.5cms.

I then cut out a thin strip of white card a little longer than my first piece of white card and stuck it to the bottom . This stops the slider from being pulled out too far.  For the tab I printed of 'Pull' and matted it with red card. I stuck my pull tab to the front of my first piece of white card using double sided tape. I stuck my second piece of white card on top of my first one to hide the strip. To finish my slider off I added two strips of red card one to the bottom one to the top.

I put my slider on the inside and pulled my tab through the slit at the top. You should now be able to pull the tab up and down. Using sticky pad tape I stick the two sides and bottom of my card together leaving enough room between the tape and my slider. Lastly I used my Gemini to cut out 'I have taken a viking to you' and used glue to stick the letters on to my card. Then using a heart paper punch I stuck two hearts to the sides of my card. That's it! Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!
