Lockdown Birthday

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is keeping safe! I'm back today with my inspiration for Creative Fingers Challenge. We have another great prize up for grabs so why not get creating and try your luck. Here's the link if you want to join in - https://creativefingerschallengeblog.blogspot.com/. In Wales UK we are still in lockdown so I decided to make a fun birthday card with a lockdown theme. I chose a gate fold card shape for this one as I love these cards as there pretty simple but look pretty impressive. I used black card for my base and decided to make a off center gate fold so I scored mine at 8.2cms, 22.6cms and 28.8cms. Then I folded my card at the score lines creating my gate fold base. Going with the lockdown theme I chose a black and white stripe backing paper from my stash. I measured out two pieces at 7.7cms by 20.5cms and two pieces at 5.7cms by 20.5cms. I used my double sided tape to secure two pieces to the front of my card and two to the inside of my card. Next I cut out a piece of white card measuring 20.5cms by 13.9cms and stuck it to the middle of the inside of my card. 

To add a bit of detail I cut out two stripes from my patterned paper and used double sided tape to stick one to the top of my white card and one to the bottom. I found this cute pug mug shot and printed it off for my topper. I also printed 'Have A Awesome Lockdown Birthday Niece '. Using my scissors I cut them both out and secured them both to black card using double sided tape. I used my deckle edge patterned scissors to cut around both of them. Next I put glue dots on the left side of both my topper and sentiment and stuck them on to the front of my card. To finish it off I stuck three black gems into each corner. That's it!
