Shooting Stars

Hey everyone! I'm back today with my inspiration for Creative Fingers new challenge. Check it out - https://creativefingerschallengeblog.blogspot.com/. We have a great prize up for grabs.
For this challenge we were free to make a card with anything we wanted. So I decided to go out of my comfort zone and make a magic rain shaker card. I've never tried something like this before but I quite enjoyed it and I'm really happy with the outcome. I followed this video on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com. It's pretty simple to follow.

For this card I used an A5 card blank. I found this lovely purple galaxy backing paper in my stash and thought it would work great as a starry sky. I used doubled sided tape to secure the paper to my card blank and trimmed any edges with my scissors. Next I measured how big I wanted my rectangle to be for the string. I lined the rectangle with my sticky pad tape. Then came the fun part. I strung invisible thread diagonally all along my sticky pad tape. Then I thread on my clear seed beads. I used less beads on the shorter strings and more on the longer strings.

Once all the seed beads where on I secured the other ends of my string to the opposite side of my tape. When I was happy with how it all looked I added a second layer of sticky pad tape to my first lot to secure all the strings. I then printed out a silhouette of a couple sitting down and cut around it with my scissors. Next I got some black card and measured a rectangle a bit smaller than the one on my card as it's going to frame my beads and string. I placed the couple at the bottom of my rectangle and traced them out. Using my craft knife I carefully cut out the sides of my rectangle and around my couple.

Then I carefully positioned my black frame on top of my card. Using my craft knife I cut the excess black card from around my card blank. For the lettering I finally got to try out my new Gemini die cutting machine. I used my little letter dies to cut out 'I Thank My Lucky Stars Your Mine' in silver mirror card. Next I cut out 4 strips of silver mirror card. I stuck two down the outside edges of my card and two down the sides of my frame. Lastly I used glue to stick my lettering to my card. That's it! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!
