Growing Up Is Optional !

Hey everyone! Today I'm back with my inspiration for A Perfect Time To Craft Challenge. We have some amazing prizes up for grabs this month so why not get creating and try your luck. This month our sponser is Bugaboo Stamps. I just love their funny digital stamps so I chose Gus Birthday - Optionl to work with. This month I decided to make a twisted easel card as I just love making this style lately.

I started my card by opening my Gus digital stamp and sentiment on to a word document so I could size them. I printed them off on to white card and used my pencils to colour Gus in. I then fussy cut him out using my scissors. For my backing paper I printed off this grass and sky background. To make my square card front I grabbed a piece of  A4 orange card and a piece of A4 yellow card for my matting. I measured my orange card at 15cms squared, my yellow card at 14.5cms squared and my backing paper at 14cms sqaured.

I then used my scissors to cut them all out. Taking my double sided tape I secured my yellow square on to my orange square and my backing paper on to my yellow sqaure. I used my scissors to cut out my sentiment and then matted it using orange and yellow card. Then I used glue dots to secure my Gus image and sentiment on to my backing paper. To finish it off I used my craft knife to carefully cut a hole in each corner and placed a orange metal brad in each hole. That's my square card front done.

To begin my twisted easel base I took another piece of A4 orange card and I measured it out at 11cms by 22cms. I cut it out with my scissors. Using my score board I scored it in half creating two 11cm x 11cm squares. I then scored one of my sqaures diagonally and folded it to create my base. Next I cut out a piece of yellow card measuring 10.5cms squared. Then I stuck it to my orange square base using double sided tape. I printed out another backing paper and measured it out 10cms x 10cms squared.

Using my scissor I cut it out and used more double sided tape to stick it to my orange and yellow matting. Taking my glue I stuck the triangle of my base on to the back of my square front. I printed out 'Happy Birthday Dad' for my base using word. I cut it out and matted it using more orange and yellow card. Lastly I used double sided pads to secure my sentiment on to the base of my card. That's it! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!

Goodbye 20's ! Hello 30 !

Hey everyone! Hope your all keeping safe and enjoying this amazing weather we've had. Today I'm back with my inspiration for Creative Fingers Challenge Blog. Why not pop over and enter our challenge for a chance to win our awesome prize! I decided to make my inspiration based on a similar card I saw on one of the many card making groups I'm part of on Facebook. I just loved how funny it was and knew it would be perfect card for my partners 30th!

To start my card I chose a deckle edge 8 x 8 inch square card blank. I measured out two pieces of  black matting at 18.5cms squared. Then I used my scissors to cut them both out. Taking my double sided tape I stuck one to the front of my card blank and one to the inside. I decided to use this water backing paper as it reminded me of the ocean. I measured out two pieces at 18cms squared and cut them out using my scissors.

Then using my double sided tape I stuck one on to my black matting on the front and one to my black matting inside.  Using my dies I cut out Hello, Goodbye and 3 in black card. Then 20 and S in red card. I downloaded my images and put them on to a word document to size. I then printed them out on to white card and used my scissors to fussy cut them all out.

Using my glue I stuck Goodbye to the top front of my card. I then used glue dots to secure my sharks underneath. Using more glue dots I stuck my 2 in to the first sharks mouth and the 0 into the second sharks mouth. I cut out a bit of red card in the shape of an apostrophe. Using glue I stuck the apostrophe and S to the right side of my card. Then using more glue dots I secured my hand and two shark fins to the bottom.

To finish the front of my card I used my craft knife to carefully cut a hole in each corner of my card and placed a black metal brad in each one. For the inside I used my glue to stick Hello to the top. I then used glue dots to secure my 3 and man in the rubber ring to the middle. To finish the inside I used my craft knife to carefully cut a hole in each corner and placed a black metal brad in each one. That's my card done! Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Hey everyone! I'm back today with my inspiration for Creative Fingers Challenge Blog. We have a great prize up for grabs so why not get crafting and try your luck. For my inspiration I wanted to try another fun fold card I've never made before so I chose a Pop Up Box. I justed loved making this card it was super fun and the end result just looks amazing! The recipient of the card is a massive The Nightmare Before Christmas fan so I ran with that theme for this box. I'm going to link a video tutorial on how to make one and a link to a written tutorial as I used a card blank for this card.

I've had pop up box card blanks in my stash for ages so I decided to use one of them for this card. My card blank measured 20cms by 28cms plus a extra 1cm for my tab. I started by measuring out my purple matting. I had three pieces measuring 11cms by 6.5cms, six pieces measuring 8cms by 6.5cms and one piece measuring 19.5cms by 6.5cms. Once I cut them all out using my scissors I used double sided tape to stick them all on to my card blank.

For my backing paper I printed off this lovely black, white and purple nightmare before christmas design. Next I measured out three pieces at 10.5cms by 6cms, six at 7.5cms by 6cms and one piece at 19cms by 6cms. Again I cut them out with my scissors and used double sided tape to stick them all on to my purple matting. That's my card blank decorated.

For the inner walls of my box card I measured and cut out three pieces of white card measuring 11cm by 9.2cms. I scored each one downwards at 1cm and 8.2cms. Once folded I used double sided tape on one side of each piece and stuck them to the right inside part of my card blank. To fill my box I took six characters from A Nightmare Before Christmas - Jack, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Mayor, Devil Kid and Zero. I used my scissors to fussy cut them all out.

I then used my guillotine to cut out six strips of acetate. I used glue dots to secure one piece of acetate on to the back of each character. I used glue dots to secure the acetate strip on Jack and Sally to my first inner wall. I then used them to secure the acetate strip on Devil Kid and Mayor to my second inner wall and the acetate strip on Zero and Oogie Boogie on to my third inner wall.

I put double sided tape on to the other side of my inner walls and the tab on my card blank and stuck it all together (not as easy as it looks lol). I printed out 'Happy 19th Birthday Granddaughter' and cut it out. Then I matted it with purple card. I used glue dot to secure it on to the front flap of my card. To finish my box off I add two purple gems on to the back piece of my box and four on to the front flap of my card. That's it! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!

Smile, Camera, Action!

Hey everyone! I hope your all keeping safe! Today I'm back with another fun gate fold card. I just love making these cards at the minute so don't be surprised if you see a few more from me lol. I'm going to link a simple Youtube video on how to make a gate fold card as if your like me I pick things up quicker by watching them than reading them - https://www.youtube.com/.

I used a piece of A4 black card for my base. I scored it at 7.2cms, 21.6cms and 28.8cms. Then I folded my card at the score lines to create my gate fold base. Looking through my paper stash I found this lovely camera background. I measured out four pieces at 6.7cms by 20.5cms. I used my double sided tape to secure two pieces to the front of my card and two to the inside of my card. Then I cut out a piece of white card measuring 20.5cms by 13.9cms and stuck it to the middle of the inside of my card. To add a bit of detail I cut out two cameras from my patterned paper and used double sided tape to stick one to the top of my white card and one to the bottom.

I decided this cat mug shot was perfect for this card as the cat is the image of the recipient's cat. I sized and printed it off. I also printed ' To A Special Daughter On Your Birthday '. Using my scissors I cut them both out and matted them using black card. I used one of my wave edge patterned scissors to cut around both of them. Next I put glue dots on the left side of both my topper and sentiment and stuck them on to the front left side
of my card. To finish it off I stuck three black gems into each corner. That's it! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!

Land Ho

Hey Everyone! I'm back today with my inspiration for A Perfect Time To Craft. Check out our challenge we have some awesome prizes up for grabs - https://aperfecttimetocraft.blogspot.com/. This month our sponsor is Doctor Digi's House Of Stamps - https://www.doctor-digi.com/. It was a hard decision trying to pick just one digital stamp as there's so many great ones but I finally decided on this Viking 'Land Ho' one - https://www.doctor-digi.com. For this card I wanted to try something I'd never tried before so decided on a Magic Slider Card. It wasn't the easiest card to make but I just love the outcome. I'm going to link the Youtube tutorial I followed - https://www.youtube.com/.

First I printed out my viking boat digital stamp and two ocean backgrounds. I coloured my digital stamp in with my pencils and I used my scissor to cut it out. Next I used double sided tape to secure my viking boat on to my first background. I cut the bottom couple off waves out of my second background and stuck it slightly over my viking boat using glue dots. This makes it look like the boat is sailing through the waves.

I used a piece of A4 red card and cut it out. I then folded it in half leaving me with a folded card measuring 17.8cms by 14.5cms. Next I measured out a rectangle on the front of my card measuring 15.1cms by 10.5cms. I used my craft knife to carefully cut out the rectangle and make a slit along the inside of my fold. Then I used double sided tape to secure my background to the inside of my card. The rectangle now creates a frame around my image.

I took a piece of A4 clear inkjet transparency paper and printed out my viking boat digital stamp on to it. I measured it out slightly bigger than my rectangle frame and cut it out with my scissors. I then used double sided tape to secure it to the inside of my frame making sure both my images lined up. The next part is creating the slider. I took a piece of white card and measured out two pieces at 15.7cms by 13.5cms.

I then cut out a thin strip of white card a little longer than my first piece of white card and stuck it to the bottom . This stops the slider from being pulled out too far.  For the tab I printed of 'Pull' and matted it with red card. I stuck my pull tab to the front of my first piece of white card using double sided tape. I stuck my second piece of white card on top of my first one to hide the strip. To finish my slider off I added two strips of red card one to the bottom one to the top.

I put my slider on the inside and pulled my tab through the slit at the top. You should now be able to pull the tab up and down. Using sticky pad tape I stick the two sides and bottom of my card together leaving enough room between the tape and my slider. Lastly I used my Gemini to cut out 'I have taken a viking to you' and used glue to stick the letters on to my card. Then using a heart paper punch I stuck two hearts to the sides of my card. That's it! Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!
