Lockdown Birthday

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is keeping safe! I'm back today with my inspiration for Creative Fingers Challenge. We have another great prize up for grabs so why not get creating and try your luck. Here's the link if you want to join in - https://creativefingerschallengeblog.blogspot.com/. In Wales UK we are still in lockdown so I decided to make a fun birthday card with a lockdown theme. I chose a gate fold card shape for this one as I love these cards as there pretty simple but look pretty impressive. I'm going to link a simple Youtube video on how to make a gate fold card as if your like me I pick things up quicker by watching them than reading them - https://www.youtube.com/

I used black card for my base and decided to make a off center gate fold so I scored mine at 8.2cms, 22.6cms and 28.8cms. Then I folded my card at the score lines creating my gate fold base. Going with the lockdown theme I chose a black and white stripe backing paper from my stash. I measured out two pieces at 7.7cms by 20.5cms and two pieces at 5.7cms by 20.5cms. I used my double sided tape to secure two pieces to the front of my card and two to the inside of my card. Next I cut out a piece of white card measuring 20.5cms by 13.9cms and stuck it to the middle of the inside of my card.

To add a bit of detail I cut out two stripes from my patterned paper and used double sided tape to stick one to the top of my white card and one to the bottom. I found this cute pug mug shot and printed it off for my topper. I also printed 'Have A Awesome Lockdown Birthday Niece '. Using my scissors I cut them both out and secured them both to black card using double sided tape. I used my deckle edge patterned scissors to cut around both of them. Next I put glue dots on the left side of both my topper and sentiment and stuck them on to the front of my card. To finish it off I stuck three black gems into each corner. That's it! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!

Shooting Stars

Hey everyone! I'm back today with my inspiration for Creative Fingers new challenge. Check it out - https://creativefingerschallengeblog.blogspot.com/. We have a great prize up for grabs.
For this challenge we were free to make a card with anything we wanted. So I decided to go out of my comfort zone and make a magic rain shaker card. I've never tried something like this before but I quite enjoyed it and I'm really happy with the outcome. I followed this video on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com. It's pretty simple to follow.

For this card I used an A5 card blank. I found this lovely purple galaxy backing paper in my stash and thought it would work great as a starry sky. I used doubled sided tape to secure the paper to my card blank and trimmed any edges with my scissors. Next I measured how big I wanted my rectangle to be for the string. I lined the rectangle with my sticky pad tape. Then came the fun part. I strung invisible thread diagonally all along my sticky pad tape. Then I thread on my clear seed beads. I used less beads on the shorter strings and more on the longer strings.

Once all the seed beads where on I secured the other ends of my string to the opposite side of my tape. When I was happy with how it all looked I added a second layer of sticky pad tape to my first lot to secure all the strings. I then printed out a silhouette of a couple sitting down and cut around it with my scissors. Next I got some black card and measured a rectangle a bit smaller than the one on my card as it's going to frame my beads and string. I placed the couple at the bottom of my rectangle and traced them out. Using my craft knife I carefully cut out the sides of my rectangle and around my couple.

Then I carefully positioned my black frame on top of my card. Using my craft knife I cut the excess black card from around my card blank. For the lettering I finally got to try out my new Gemini die cutting machine. I used my little letter dies to cut out 'I Thank My Lucky Stars Your Mine' in silver mirror card. Next I cut out 4 strips of silver mirror card. I stuck two down the outside edges of my card and two down the sides of my frame. Lastly I used glue to stick my lettering to my card. That's it! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!

Golfer Gus

Hey Everyone! I'm back and today I'm sharing with you my first inspiration for Creative Fingers this month. This fortnight we where sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps. Here's the link -https://bugaboostamps.com. Check them out they have some great stamps and even a few that will make you laugh! I was lucky enough to get to choose one of the stamps this fortnight and I just couldn't resist this great Gus Golf digital stamp. It made me chuckle. Here's the link just in case you want one for yourselves - https://bugaboostamps.com

I really enjoyed making my first twisted easel card last week so I decided to make another. I followed this tutorial - https://www.youtube.com/. I found it easy and simple to follow. I just changed the measurements to make my card the size I wanted it.

I started by sizing and printing off my Gus digital stamp. I used my new pencils for the first time to colour it in. I wasn't sure what they would be like when I ordered them but I am totally in love with them! The best pencils I have ever owned. Here's the link if anyone would like to check them out - https://www.ebay.co.uk/.

Next I cut my digital stamp in to a rectangular shape measuring 12.5cms by 13.5cms. I then cut out out a piece of orange card measuring 13cms by 14cms and a piece of green card measuring 13.5cms by 14.5cms. I used double sided tape to secure the orange card to the green card and the digital stamp on to the orange card. That's the square front of my card done.

Next I took a piece of green card for my twisted easel bottom. I measured mine at 13.5cms by 27cms. I cut it out with my guillotine. Using my score board I scored it where it says in the video and folded it. Then I cut out a piece of orange card measuring 13cms squared and stuck it to the base of my card. I decided this diamond pattern backing paper matched perfectly with Gus's jumper so I cut out a piece measuring 12.5cms squared. Using more double sided tape I secured it to my orange card.

Taking my glue I stuck the triangle of my base on to the back of my square front. I decided this card would make the perfect Father's Day card for my Grancha so I print out ' Happy Father's Day Grancha' for a sentiment. Then I matted it using more orange and green card. Lastly I used double sided pads to secure my sentiment on to the base of my card. That's it! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!
