Just Because

Hey everyone! I'm back and today I get to share with you some news. I have just become the newest member of Creative Fingers Design Team. If you would like to check out the blog and maybe even join in with our challenge then head on over to  https://creativefingerschallengeblog.blogspot.com/. We have a great prize up for grabs!

For my first card as part of the team I got to pick a digital stamp from Ching-Chou Kuik Etsy Shop. Here's the link if you would like to take a look - https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop. After having a good look through I found a lovely little digital stamp called Spring Delight and I knew that was the one I wanted. Here's the link just in case you want one for yourself - https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/. This lovely image inspired me to make a 'just because' card for my Nan to put a smile on her face at these uncertain times thanks to Covid-19.

I started the card by sizing and printing my digital stamp. Next I used my pencils to colour it in. Once pleased with how it looked I placed it to one side. I decided a gate fold card would work great with this digital stamp. So I choose a hot pink a4 piece of card and marked both the top and bottom at 7.2cms, 21.6cms and 28.8cms. I drew a line at 28.8cms and used my guillotine to cut it. Then I used my score board to score at 7.2cm and 21.6cm.

I took my corner punch and used it to round all the corners on my card. Next I had a dig around in my patterned paper and found this lovely pearlescent floral paper in one of my paper pads. I measured the paper to fit each flap and used my corner punch to round the corners. I stuck them on to my card base using double sided tape. Then I cut my digital stamp and sentiment to size and used glue dots to secure them on to some hot pink card. I took one of my scalloped patterned scissors and cut around them both. Giving each one a lovely patterned frame.

I took some double sided pads and stuck my digital stamp and sentiment to the left flap of my card base. To finish off the front of my card I took six hot pink love heart gems. I stuck one in each corner and the other two on to my digital stamp.

The last part to do on my card was the inside. I cut a white piece of card to size and again used my corner punch to round the edges. I used doubled sided tape to stick it to the inside of my card. Then I cut out two lovely flowers from remaining backing paper and stuck one into the top left corner and one into the bottom right corner using more double sided tape. That's it! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!
